Posted: July 3, 2005
TV fans remember her in the dual roles of Patty and Cathy Lane. Movie buffs know her as Helen Keller in "The Miracle Worker." Cheryl and Bob Burger's young son thinks of her as Sean Astin's mother.

Actress provides voice for the mentally ill

Perhaps you know her as Helen Keller, the strong-willed, deaf-blind girl from the 1962 movie, "The Miracle Worker." Or maybe you remember her from her eponymous TV show that debuted the next year, the one where she played a zany Brooklyn Heights teenager (loved to rock 'n' roll, "a hot dog makes her lose control") and her well-mannered British cousin (loved the "Minuet," Ballet Rouse and crepe Suzette). But Patty Duke's greatest role, critics say, is the one she plays now - speaking on behalf of people, such as herself, who suffer from mental illness. http://www.jsonline.com/alive/news/jun05/333573.asp

House Creates Energy of Its Own

Its outside appearance may not look like the Biltmore Hotel, but the beige coloring comes close. And while the setting may not be the tree-coated foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the I-94 high-rise bridge that hovers above the dwelling sts a sizable shadow late in the day.
This little bungalow at 726 W. Bruce St. in Walker's Point may not compare to the mansions of the Vanderbilts, or even the double-wides of Northwoods lakes, but whoever moves in will certainly view it as 1,400 square feet of castle...
