Independent Living Skills Coordinator


IndependenceFirst, an organization committed to empowering persons with disabilities is seeking an
organized, experienced, team player with  a positive attitude.  Responsibilities include assisting with the identification of independent living needs, developing IL plans, providing information and referral; IL skills class instruction on either a 1:1 or group basis and provide advocacy assistance for our consumers. Fluency in Spanish, Russian or Hmong preferred.

Successful candidate will have a firm belief in consumer control and the IL philosophy, strong communication skills, ability to work with a diverse population, a self-starter and must be able to work independently.  Additionally, candidates must be able to travel independently in the four-county service area:  Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha.


Independent Living Skills Coordinator

IndependenceFirst, an organization committed to empowering persons with disabilities is seeking an organized, experienced, team player with a positive attitude.  Half of the responsibilities of this position include leading and implementing peer support efforts in Ozaukee, Waukesha and Washington counties.  Outreach to various organizations for the purpose of recruitment of peer support volunteers and for those desiring the service.  This position will also conduct quarterly peer support trainings. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the identification of independent living needs, developing IL plans, providing information and referral, IL skills instruction on either a 1:1 or group basis and provide advocacy assistance for our consumers. Care Coordinator RN

IndependenceFirst an organization committed to empowering persons with disabilities is seeking a compassionate, responsible Care Coordinator to coordinate and facilitate services for our at-home consumers.  This salaried position requires a current RN license and home care, rehabilitation, or public health experience.  We value our employees and offer excellent benefits, including over 3 weeks vacation, company paid dental and life insurance, low cost health insurance, a casual work atmosphere, and a 403(b) plan.
