Event impacts lives
There are numerous spinal cord injuries that occur every year for many different reasons. As a person who obtained a spinal cord injury at the age of 19, I know all too well the toll it takes on daily living.
For starters, just preparing for the day is a task in and of itself. Not being able to have total control over your body can be overwhelming at times to a person with a spinal cord injury. Also, participating in society can oftentimes be a hassle with all the barriers that we face daily (transportation, facilities that aren’t accessible, difficulty obtaining jobs, discrimination, lack of understanding and lastly all the additional health issues that arise).
I’m sure many people may know someone personally or have a friend of a friend that has a spinal cord injury. So why not come down, support a great cause and get in some cardio followed by a great night of food and fun. All participants get free access to Festa Italiana after the event.
