Computer Recycling

The program distributes used computers to persons with disabilities who could not otherwise obtain one. Individuals receiving computers are offered basic computer training as well as instruction on accessing and using the Internet.

Computers will be distributed only after an application has been completed, need has been established and an appointment for pickup has been made.

Once the donated computers arrive at our office, we break down the machines and run them according to local, state, and federal guidelines This includes scrubbing hard drives to protect confidential information, pickup, transportation, erasure, and disposal. The Computer Recycling Program provides document software and spreadsheet capabilities as well as equipment required to connect to the Internet.

To assist persons with disabilities obtain computers that can be used to access the Internet to obtain disability-related information, get involved in advocacy and to become computer literate.
