Disability Mentoring Week

Event location: Mentoring takes place at workplaces throughout the four-county Greater Milwaukee area
Event date and time: October 16 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
This week brings together students with disabilities and individuals employed in a wide range of professions for a job shadowing session.

IndependenceFirst is creating industry-specific job shadowing opportunities for local youth with disabilities.
 
Why be mentored?
  • Obtain greater awareness of local employment and internship opportunities for people with disabilities.
  • Discuss and experience hands-on functions of the job while exploring personal needs related to your disability.
  • Explore industry-specific career interests and goals.
  • Pair up with community-based partners at local work sites for one-on-one career coaching.
  • Learn about inclusive employers in your area!
