Milwaukee County has contributed commercial space on Wells St. to the IndependenceFirst Mobility Store since 2001. This space serves as storage in Milwaukee and made it possible for the program to initially expand to Milwaukee from Madison.

Badger State Industries Wheelchair Refurbishing Program

Badger State Industries operates inmate work programs at correctional institutions around the state. Positions are paid and highly sought.  BSI repairs and cleans wheelchairs for IndependenceFirst Mobility Store at their workshop in Redgranite Correctional Institution. This service is provided to the program free of charge, and enables WRP to offer high quality refurbished equipment at low cost.

WisTech Assistive Technology Program is the federally-funded, statewide assistive technology program. The IndependenceFirst Mobility Store is an integral partner of WisTech and provides Device Reutilization services statewide.
