Start the new year with a calmer mind. Join Independence First for our Winter 2026 Calm Your Mind Workshops. It is a four-week mindfulness series designed for people with disabilities who want to learn techniques to reduce stress and stay present.
Each week, you’ll explore new mindfulness activities focused on breathing, grounding, and relaxation. Participants will practice positive coping strategies that can be used in daily life to manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. The sessions offer a welcoming, supportive environment to learn, share, and grow together.
These workshops are free to attend, but space is limited.

For the safety and comfort of those with chemical and environmental sensitivities, Independence First requests that when attending agency-sponsored events, please refrain from using any perfumed products such as scented soaps, deodorants, perfumes, colognes and heavily scented fabric softeners. To maintain a smoke-free environment, please also refrain from smoking in paths of travel and doorways.
