Transportation Advocacy Team Meeting

Wednesday, August 26, 2026

12:00 PM to 1:00 PM

Monthly on the fourth Wednesday

ZoomALL, WI

Details:

Do you want to help improve transportation access for people with disabilities in the Milwaukee area? Join Independence First's Transportation Advocacy Team and work alongside fellow advocates to identify barriers, share experiences, and promote solutions that make transit and paratransit systems safer, more reliable, and more accessible for everyone.

The Transportation Advocacy Team focuses on issues affecting public transportation, paratransit services, pedestrian access, and other mobility-related concerns. Team members learn about transportation projects and policies, connect with community partners, and support advocacy efforts that help ensure the voices of people with disabilities are included in transportation planning and decision-making.

Whether you are an experienced advocate or simply interested in making a difference, all are welcome to participate. This is a great opportunity to stay informed, share your perspective, and help create a more accessible transportation system for our community.

Meeting Schedule:
4th Wednesday of each month
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Each Team has a different focus. We use the Zoom videoconferencing platform to offer hybrid meetings. It has a call-in option. People who want to attend in-person can come to Independence First’s office.

Contact Brian Peters at bpeters@independencefirst.org or 414-937-5912 if you are interested in joining one or more teams, or for disability-related reasonable accommodations.
