On March 16, the IndependenceFirst Long Term Care Advocacy Team will be hosting a Brown Bag Educational Event focusing on housing from noon to 2 p.m. at the IndependenceFirst Milwaukee office, 540 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee.  It will include a panel presentation and a trivia contest.
The panel will feature three speakers discussing different aspects of housing. Eloisa Balderas will be talking about homeownership opportunities for people with disabilities. James Tarantino will be talking about HUD Housing, Tax Credit Housing, Project-Based Rental Housing and other housing rental opportunities for people with disabilities and their families. Debbie Rosenthal-Zemel will be talking about assisted housing options, i.e. Community-Based Residential Facilities, Adult Family Homes, Residential Care Apartments and supported apartments.
We will end this event with a trivia contest that focuses on long term care issues and housing. There will be some prizes available for winners. Snacks and beverages will be provided but bring your own lunch. Please join us for this interesting event! Contact Julie Alexander at 414-226-8378 V/Relay with questions.
