Disability Advocacy Day is the perfect opportunity to connect with your legislators so you can talk about the issues that matter most to you. Don’t wait for someone else to use their voice to promote change. YOU are your own best advocate! Join individuals with disabilities from across the state as they head to Madison and share their personal stories with their legislators.
This is not something to shy away from! At IndependenceFirst we can help you learn how to be an effective advocate for yourself and others with disabilities. Make advocacy one of your independent living goals today and contact one of our Independent Living Coordinators so you are better prepared for how to speak to a legislator, to build self-confidence and to empower yourself.
We also have many additional ways to get involved in advocacy here at IndependenceFirst.
To speak with an Independent Living Coordinator about your advocacy goals or to learn more about getting involved in IndependenceFirst advocacy initiatives, call 414-291-7520 V/Relay.
The most current 2019 Disability Advocacy Day details can be found on the website of the Survival Coalition of Wisconsin Disability Organizations.
Hope to see you on March 20!
